What you'll find here: Stories about Merry and Pippin from The Lord of the Rings that follow this simple pattern: read, enjoy, repeat. These are stories that are worthy of a second read -- and in many cases, an eleventy-eleventh.

What I like: Peregrin Took. Meriadoc Brandybuck. Once in awhile on their own, but usually together -- as friends, as cousins, as heroes, as lovers. Slash. Gen. Gen that borders on slash. Top notch characterization. Believablity. Subtlety. Naturalness. Humor. Both sweetness (but not sappiness) and angst. Stories written by those who have obviously read the novel in addition to seeing the film -- or at least stories written by those who do an amazing job of acting like they have.

But there is a caveat: Due to classification (and personal) issues, I have chosen to not label stories or separate the slash from the gen. One reason is that for some of these stories the line between the two genres is not so clear. In these cases, the interpretation is very much left to reader, which I believe is the case with the original canon as well. Much to my dislike, however, stories like these are few and far between. Therefore, the majority of what you will find here will deal openly with a consummate love (as it could never be considered a romantic love) between Merry and Pippin rather than a companiate love. If this does not appeal to you, then please go no further.
