I told you 'bout the Walrus and me, man, You know that we're as close as can be, man. Well, here's another clue for you all, The walrus was Paul. -- "Glass Onion" ____________________________________________________ Yes, I do know the backstory to all of the songs listed here. I know that "Do You Want to Know a Secret?" was written for Cynthia and "Two of Us" for Linda. I know that "Within You Without You" is about universal love, not romantic love. But these songs -- as well as the rest you can find here -- can also be perceived in other ways, including slashy ways, and that's why I've chosen to include them. There are other songs (like "Hello Goodbye" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps") that are semi-slashy, but not so much that I felt the need to include them. And there's songs like "Boys" and "You've Really Got a Hold On Me" which are extremely slashy (especially the former since it was originally done by a girl group, and the Beatles didn't alter the chorus much), but since they're covers, I decided not to include them. Same with the songs that the Beatles wrote, but gave to other artists -- although "It's For You" nearly did make it here. And who knows, maybe someday when I get some more time, I'll extend the song list to include all of these as well as certain songs from the Beatles' solo careers ("When We Was Fab," anyone?). Oh yeah, the reason why "Happiness is a Warm Gun" isn't included is that as a whole the song isn't slashy, despite the title. And "I Want You" is even more repetitive than "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?" so that's why it's not here. |
